however, sth happened when my day was coming to an end.. and dat incident sparked me off to think and realise we're all living in an ugly world...
took d train hm.. as usual, it was packed like a sardine can but i was lucky enuf to get a seat.. sat down n wanted to tk a short rest as d train proceed to JE.. evyth was ok frm boon lay to lakeside.. it was until when d train reached chinese garden dat d incident happened...here was wad happened...
der were 3 hippy looking indian guys standing in front of where i was sititng, i noted dem coz they were reali rawdy n loud in their words which kinda irritated me but nevertheless i beared wif it.. suddenly one of dem started making his way towards one of d doors, thinking dat he might probably want to alight at d next stop, i took no notice of his actions. it was at d pt when i heard my fren, michelle, shouting out "hey! pickpocket leh" dat made me aware of wad was happening... d indian guy was actually trying to steal a chinese guy's wallet frm his backpack... i was shocked for words! i'm v sure most of d commuters on the train heard michelle's shout but to my amazement, nobody did anyth... d only expression most had on their faces was a "bo-chap-who-cares-none-of-my-business" look!! i seriously din know wad to say...
perhaps, michelle's shout alerted d victim himself, coz he suddenly turned to feel his backpack and realised dat his wallet was missing, he began looking around for it and i pointed out to him d culprit who stole his wallet...he went over to d indian guy n his body language simply tells dat he's reali to send some punches down d indian guy's face... perhaps dat's y under d circumstance of no choice, d indian guy returned d chinese guy his wallet...
wad reali made me ponder n think is wad exactly happen to d CME dat we used to learn in schs? d CME dat teaches us to be honest, dat teaches us to lend a helping hand to those in need etc etc.. where hv all these values gone to?? y is evy1 behaving in such a selfish manner?? i wonder if those ppl who were der @ d scene juz nw ever think, if one day dis type of situation happen to dem, n no one steps forward to help dem...wad will they do?
seriously i feel so disgraced... this is such an ugly world... =(
