together with mum n sis, i drove to westmall for lunch n to the library.
then we went on to my godma's house to visit my godpa.
he has been diagonsed with lung cancer a few months ago n according to the doctor, his cancer is in the last stage already n he's too old to receive chemotheraphy.
the only thing the can do for him is to give him medication.
my heart cringe when i heard of the news a few months back.
i wondered why did such an illness bestowed him when he's a non smoker?
why is life so unfair?
tormenting him only at this age when he's supposed to be enjoying his golden years?
i did not have much of the time n chance to visit him ever since his diagonise n i feel ashamed for that.
hence, since i get to drive today, i told mum that i want to go over to visit him.
i was pretty apprehensive about seeing him for i dun have an idea how he would look like now. according to mum, he looks like a completely different person the last time she visited him.
n indeed, i was taken aback when i saw him.
a sharp pain shot through my heart almost instantenously.
godpa looked so frail n sickly now.
from afar, he looked somehow like a skeleton wrapped up in skin, with a bloated stomach n swollen feets. the sight was almost unbearable.
tears circled the rims of my eyes when he called out my name n told me how happy he was to see me. the sharp pain emerged once again...
frankly speaking, i've always been pretty scared of visiting sickly people, not that i'm afraid of contracting whatever they have but i know i'm really bad at controlling my emotions.
which explains why i did not really dare to look into godpa's eyes while talking to him, for fear that i will lose myself.
godma says that he cant hang on long.
his condition is deteoriating day by day..
symptoms showing that he's leaving soon are appearing..
chills ran down my spine when i heard that.
how could life be so fragile?
juz a couple of months ago, he was still the healthy godpa that i know of, joking n cycling to everywhere n yet now, he even have difficulties walking...
the sadness that i feel is juz beyond what words can describe...
life is juz so fragile..
u'll nv know what will happen the next minute or the next second..
so pls cherish the things n people u hv with u now...
i know i do... :)

yes, its yet another concert by MAYDAY.
the last concert which baby n i went to was in dec05, but apparently i thought it was juz last year that we went.
this juz shows how fast time flew by...
this year, the stage was bigger than b4,
there were more seats, but still fully occupied.
the stage effects were so much better,
there were more screens n the best thing is we did not need to stand throughout the whole concert like b4.
yes! this yr, we've turned smarter to get the proferated seats instead of the seats at the raised platform which is not much raised in the end.
our view was spectacular from our seats n we get to enjoy every single moment of the show, standing up only when the atmosphere gets too high for us to remain glued in our seats.
this is yet another concert with my hubby, only that this yr, i brought my sis along, fulfilling my promise to bring her to a concert someday.
the only regret was the concert only lasted for 3hrs as compared to the one in 05 which lasted for 4hrs.. we were deprived of an hour's of rock n enjoyment.
but overall, it is still a gr8 concert by MAYDAY.
looking forward to the next, but when will it be?
p/s: pics will be up later after i've loaded them :)

we went to OBS-Pulua Ubin.
i was pretty looking forward to this trip since i've nv been to OBS b4..
looked forward to joining all the activities, including those wet activities when "auntie" has to come knocking at my doors yday...
really dampened all my moods but no choice la..
went ahead for the trip early in the morning.
had with me loads of sweets in my backpack to prevent myself from becoming "merlion" onboard the boat or small ferry as u call it.
luckily, all was well n i reached ubin in one piece.
breakfast was catered for us at OBS but sadly it wasnt v nice.
the beehoon was very dry n tasteless, the hotdogs were cold n hard, the veggies were tasteless as well.. only consolation was perhaps hot coffee?
had some warm up games after breakfast n that was when i saw a different side of my P n VP.
both totally did not care abt any image n went all out to play the warm up games.
shortly after, we had a briefing n the day of activities started...
throughout the whole day, we had many activities lined up for us.
majority of the games had the aim of us learning how to communicate effectively n attain a common goal together.
it was fun wrecking our brains n coming up with strategies to beat the other teams.
lunch came after some games n it was a buffet.
comapred to breakfast, it was slightly better, but there was still room for improvement for the fried rice was too soggy..
after a hearty lunch, we were given a task to complete.
as a whole school, we're supposed to build 2rafts which could carry 16passengers each.
each of the rafts had to be rowed out to the sea to exchange for the "victory" flag.
we were told to earn for our raw materials through a series of games n activities.
since i could not lend a helping hand in rowing the raft out, i contributed through playing all the games n earning UBIN dollars for the rest of the colleagues.
it was a fun n interactive time with all my colleagues.
n since i am new to the school, this trip allowed me to intereact more with the colleagues n to get to know them better.
tea time came n this time round, the food was GOOD!!
yummy snacks were served, esp the choc muffins.. those choc simply juz melts in the mouth!!
after tea time, we went on to start building our rafts since we hv already earned enough $$ to purchase the raw materials needed.
as MAN-power was limited, we ladies had to build a raft on our own as well..
this is where the WOMAN-power emerged.
it was unexpected to see the small built ladies having so much strength to tie n tighten the ropes, making sure that the barrels n the pipes are closely secured.
hats off to the powerful ladies in KPS!!
the time has come for the launch of the KPS rafts.
one went after another n when the 2nd raft was launched into the sea, people watching from the shore like myself got a SHOCK!!
from a distance away, we saw something bobbing up n down in the waters.
initially we thought it was juz a plank of wood but suddenly, the "thing" came charging towards the 2nd raft!!
we screamed!!! n the trainers were stunned.
upon clarification, the "thing" which we thought is a crocodile or something turned out to be an iguana, as said by the trainer who went into the waters to check it out.
we heaved a sigh of relief, whilst wondering why is an iguana doing in the sea waters when it supposedly doesnt swim?
we thought coast was clear when suddenly one of the teachers exclaimed seeing the "thing" again. this time round, the kaypo us followed the "thing"'s direction all the way until it came onto shore n we got a shock again. the "thing" turned out not to be an iguana but instead, its a komodo dragon look alike n it was huge..!!
oh man, suddenly i was glad of "auntie"'s visit that disallowed me to go into the waters. :)
luckily there was no injuries or what-so-ever to the teachers out in the sea.
our rafts managed to come back finally, but only one was still in perfect condition.
yes, the one "built" soley by the ladies turned out to be the one which could withstand all the harshness out in the sea.
3cheers for the ladies!!!!!
after a long n tired day, it was soon time to bade farewell to ubin.
speeches were made, thanks were delivered n the ferry came to pick us up again.
by this time, i was already half dead n i yearn to be home so much, all for the sake of a good bath.
it was an enjoyable trip on the whole.
i'm glad that i went for the trip :)
