after much awaitment, the BIG day has finally come..
yuppiez, our FUNSHOP is gonna to be carried out TODAY!!! yeah! ^_^v
woke up super early dis morning,6.30am, (at least i tink itz super early for me la, since i haven been waking up @ dis timing for ages? keke), reason being i need to go over to one of the student centres to fetch the kids who are supposed to be attending our funshop to Nanyng Primary School, the place where we'll be carrying out all our activities for the day..
i reached the centre with much anticipation coz as i was nearing the place, i could already hear the kids' voices.. guess they're equally excited like i am.. lolz =p
picked them up from their centre, did a little self intro to the kids n we're all set to go...
finally, we left the place n head for NY Pri, on the bus endless kids' chatter filled the bus, happy as they were, their teacher i/c even got them to sing some songs for us.. i'm amazed at how many different languages the kids can sing in... eng, chi, canto, even hokkien... i muz say they sing reali well, almost top grade quality.. as i was drowned in d midst of their enchanting voices, we soon reached NY Pri.. the kids from dis particular centre (which i shall nt mention itz name due to case of sensitivity) are reali very well behaved, thou' they might get a little too noisy @ times, but once their teacher open his eyes wide n stare @ them, all of them turned silent immediately.. dat teacher reali POWER siah!! i wana "bai shi xue xi" from him oredi.. haha!
basically, d whole day was filled with lotsa fun n excitement n if i were to pen down every single detail, itz gonna be super lengthy, so i shall juz pen down some more significant happenings..
initially i thot i wld hv a bit of problem trying to blend all the children from the 2 different centres together since they were rather shy @ d beginning.. but once they start playing the games that we hv planned out for them, they automatically merge together as a wholesome.. so der's nt much for me to worry abt.. n the happy thing is dat they are obedient n reali listen to me.. we had fun together n they're all juz like my xiao di n xiao meis...it was reali v pleasing to d ear to hear dem addressing me "jie" the feeling is simply wonderful!
they're reali very nice kids, juz dat prob they dun hv very gd supervision n some family prob stuffz but still i can see v gd future in them... they hv d making of a potential leader for d future, gif dem more attention, care n love, i'm sure they'll shine. =)
i made my own little gifts for them, thou we actually prepared presents as a grp for them oredi, but i thot i shld gif dem sth of my own, hoping that they'll feel special n different from the rest... indeed, my objective was acheived, all 4 of them were grinning from ear to ear when i hand them their little gift packs... thou itz nth fanciful, but still i can c dat they like those little treats alot.. i feel so good upon seeing their reaction.. heez =D
besides having various station games for them, we also hv a crafts workshop planned for them, gonna teach dem chinese bamboo painting n making lollipop flower. the kids were fascinated when they know they're gonna make a lollipop flower coz i tink d idea sounds new to them, so they were all v excited.. when d demonstration start, the kids were all bz trying to create their own lollipop flower.. the kids did a GREAT job, considering dat itz their 1st attempt.. then one of my boy came forward n asked me: "jie, can u gimme 1 more lollipop? i wana make another lollipop flower for my mother, she's coming out from the pri*** soon" upon hearing dat, i was caught for words, i feel so touched by my boy's actions. i almost cried.. he's a sensible boy.. i'm proud of him!!!
i myself also enjoyed making the lollipop flower since itz my 1st time doing it also.. it was fun n i did one for my baby too.. thou it might nt be in d best condition, but it comes from d heart... =)
well well, all good things r bound to come to an end... time flew past us n itz d end of our event le..
time for prize presentation... n guess wad!! my team won the BEST TEAMWORK award. Their nv-give-up attitude is commendable. i'm so proud of my kids!! they reali did a very good job.. well done children!!!
d time for us to bid farewell is unfortuantely here.. watched all the children get back into their respective centre groups, board their chartered bus n as each kid went up onto the bus, they kept waving good-byes at us.. we too waved back while trying to keep d smile on our faces, but frankly speaking, i felt quite sad to c dem leave, suddenly i hope our event was a 3days 2nite kinda camp, so dat i can spend more time wif these lovely kids.. but too bad... all is over in a day. =(
although we only spend so little time with each other, the bond between us is still there.. i'm glad to see the happy looks on the kids' faces after this eventful day.. i knew we have acheived our aim... we have brought in joy, fun n laughter into their lives..!!
